This painting was done as a commission for Essentia Health, who wanted something similar in size and color scheme to "Redpolls." I chose to show a flock of Bohemian Waxwings taking off from a mountain ash tree, with all the dynamic movement of birds taking flight. The red berries of the mountain ash and subtle gray of the back ground help to complement the beautiful colors of the waxwings.
